Background: 
Westeros lies to the west of the Sunset Sea, south of the Summer Sea, and to the east of the Narrow Sea and the Shivering Sea. Its northern has not been fully explored, though it is believed to extend into vast ice fields. In terms of geography and overall shape, the continent resembles the island of Great Britain—long and narrow, measuring about 900 miles at its widest point, yet stretching nearly 2,000 miles from the Summer Sea to the northern boundary of the Seven Kingdoms, marked by the Wall. North of the Wall, the lands of the Free Folk remain largely unknown. The terrain of Westeros is highly varied, featuring impressive mountain ranges such as the Mountains of the Moon in the Vale, the Red Mountains of Dorne, and the Frostfang Mountains. Numerous rivers run across the continent, most notably the Trident and its many branches, along with the Blackwater, the White River of the North, the Mander, and the Greenblood.
