The KC-135 Stratotanker is a military aerial refueling tanker as well as one of the most strategically important and long-lived aircraft in the U.S. Air Force; it was initially tasked with refueling strategic bombers like the B-52, but it was later used in conflicts such as the Vietnam War and Desert Storm to extend range and endurance of US tactical fighters.

The KC-135 was developed in the 50s by the 367-80 prototype and its first flight took place on August 31, 1956; many of these aircraft are still in service today.
