Details in Design:
The BR E42 was a relatively small electric locomotive operated by the German State Railways. It was used for freight trains as well as slower passenger train services. The E42 was basically a BR E11 with minor changes and modifications.292 locomotives were built between 1962 and 1976. The locomotive was nicknamed the 'Holzroller', probably because it was often used with wagons for timber/stem transport. The locomotive was available in two colour schemes: red with black bogies and green/black with red bogies, this model is black with red bogies.
