MOC-221512 Electric Locomotive BR243 – Deutsche Reichsbahn Building Blocks recreate a milestone of German railway engineering with the MOC-221512 Electric Locomotive BR243, a highly detailed brick model of the iconic Deutsche Reichsbahn electric locomotive. Designed by langemat, this locomotive is a tribute to East Germany’s transition from diesel to electric traction in the late 20th century.

In the late 1970s, East Germany launched a national railway electrification program. By 1978, the GDR initiated the development of a lighter and more advanced four-axle electric locomotive, derived from the successful 250 series. The goal was to replace aging 211 and 242 series locomotives with a modern solution that was capable of hauling both passenger and medium freight trains without restrictions.

The result was the BR 212/243, with the prototype unveiled at the 1982 Leipzig Spring Fair. Nicknamed the “White Lady” for its striking white-and-red livery, it quickly became a symbol of modern design and efficiency—earning the "Good Design Award" at the fair.

This MOC version includes 1328 premium ABS parts, ensuring a high-quality build experience. Every piece is precisely molded, burr-free, and fits snugly for a tight, stable structure. The surface is smooth, the colors are vibrant, and the entire assembly experience is seamless.
