This model is based on the design of the Italian national railway locomotive. The E402B XMPR version features distinctive characteristics such as a shell, front, and ice-white crown, green straps and surrounds on the box, and a fine blue stripe above the strap.

Background: The E.402B is a locomotive used by the Italian national railway, featuring modern design and evolved from the E.402A locomotive. The history of the E.402B locomotive was born after the success of the larger E.402A locomotive, and with the further need for the modernization of rolling stock, a new 3 kV direct current electric locomotive was designed. Suitable to support the now aging E.444 for towing long-distance passenger trains on national electrified lines.
