Recreate the atmosphere of classic British railways with the MOC-229762 GWR 5700 Class Diorama Building Blocks Set. Designed and authorized by Mikey_Brickalloti, this 2,108-piece LesDiy configuration is inspired by the iconic Great Western Railway 5700 Class steam locomotive and presents it in a distinctive dark red color scheme inspired by London Transport livery.

The 5700 Class became one of the most recognizable British 0-6-0 pannier tank locomotives, serving both freight duties and shorter passenger routes. This display captures that heritage with the locomotive, two period-style coaches, track base, railway signaling details, and a richly developed interior.

The model has also been built and tested with real building elements by the designer. Following feedback, the driving rod design was updated in February 2026 to improve movement and reduce wheel binding.

2,108-PIECE BRITISH RAILWAY DIORAMA
Build a complete railway scene centered around the classic GWR 5700 Class, accompanied by two coaches, track, signaling equipment, and detailed interiors.

DESIGNED BY MIKEY_BRICKALLOTI
Designed and authorized by Mikey_Brickalloti, with the model physically built and tested to refine its structure and running mechanism.

ICONIC GWR 5700 CLASS DESIGN
Recreates the distinctive 0-6-0 wheel arrangement, compact boiler, side pannier tanks, cab, and unmistakable proportions of this famous British steam locomotive.

LONDON TRANSPORT-INSPIRED LIVERY
The dark red color scheme pays tribute to the London Transport appearance associated with preserved and historic examples of the 5700 Class.

UPDATED DRIVING ROD SYSTEM
The connecting rod mechanism was redesigned in February 2026 based on builder feedback, helping the wheels move more smoothly and reducing the risk of binding.

DETAILED LOCOMOTIVE CAB
Remove the cab roof to explore an interior featuring a furnace, gauges, valves, and other steam-era operating details.

MAIL CAR WITH OPTIONAL MOTORIZATION SPACE
One includes parcel and mail storage details as well as space designed to accommodate a battery module for builders who want to add optional motorization.

DETAILED PASSENGER
The passenger carriage includes benches, tables, and lamp details, recreating the atmosphere of short-distance British railway travel.

RAILWAY SIGNALING DETAILS
Trackside semaphore-style signals add another layer of realism to the diorama and help recreate traditional railway operations.

DEDICATED TRACK DISPLAY BASE
The included track section turns the locomotive and coaches into a complete railway scene suitable for shelves, display cabinets, and larger train layouts.

LARGE DISPLAY PRESENCE
The original diorama measures approximately 93.4 cm / 36.8 in long, 16.5 cm / 6.5 in wide, and 22.1 cm / 8.7 in high, creating a substantial display without the footprint of a full railway layout.

From the Designer

Mikey_Brickalloti designed MOC-229762 as a tribute to the GWR 5700 Class, one of the most enduring sights of British railway history. Although the class was frequently used for freight work, it also operated passenger services on shorter and branch-line routes.

The model combines the locomotive with period coaches, detailed interiors, railway signals, and a dedicated display track. It has been physically built and tested, and the driving rod was later revised to improve its movement.

Best For

British railway enthusiasts, steam locomotive collectors, GWR fans, London Transport enthusiasts, railway diorama builders, vintage transportation collectors, and builders who enjoy detailed mechanical train models.
