The SR-71 is a U.S. jet-powered, long-range, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. Featuring advanced technology like a titanium structure and variable cycle engines, it was the first to overcome the heat barrier. No SR-71 has ever been shot down in combat. It began to be developed and produced by American companies in 1963, made its first flight in 1964, entered service in 1966, and produced a total of 32 aircraft. Retired in 1990, part of the SR-71 was reorganized back into the army in 1995, and launched a flight mission in 1997, permanently retired in 1998, and part of it was put on museum display.
